CATHOLIC CHURCH & SCHOOL

A School That Sets A Higher Standard
St. Patrick of Heatherdowns School offers a structured, values-based education where students are known, challenged, and guided — academically, socially, and spiritually.
For families who want more than just “getting by.”

When School Isn't Working,
Families Feel It First.
Too many parents today feel stuck.
Classrooms are overcrowded. Expectations are inconsistent. And students who need structure, guidance, and accountability aren’t getting it.
At the same time, families who value education and discipline are often left wondering:
“Where does my child truly belong?”
St. Patrick's School was built for families who want something better.
A Different Kind of School Community
At St. Patrick of Heatherdowns School, we are intentional about the kind of enviroment we create.
We believe students thrive when there is:
-
Clear structure and expectations
-
Strong academic standards
-
Respect for teachers, peers, and self
-
A foundation of faith and values
This is not a “one-size-fits-all” school.

It’s a school for families who want to be actively involved in their child’s growth.

FAQ
Do you have to be Catholic to attend? No—students do not have to be Catholic to attend St. Pat’s. While we teach and celebrate the Catholic faith, we value and embrace the diversity of our school community—our differences help make us stronger. All families are warmly invited to join us for school-wide liturgies as we grow together in our understanding of Scripture and tradition.
How does tuition and EdChoice work? For many families, the EdChoice or EdChoice Expansion program covers the full cost of tuition. Traditional EdChoice eligibility is based on the public school your child would otherwise attend. If that school is designated as underperforming, you may qualify for the traditional EdChoice scholarship. If your assigned public school is not on that list, you would apply for EdChoice Expansion. Through this program, the State of Ohio determines what portion of tuition is covered and what, if any, amount remains the responsibility of the family. In many cases, families receive full tuition coverage. If there is a remaining balance, additional financial aid opportunities are available. We encourage you to contact or visit the school office for personalized guidance and the most up-to-date information.
What grades are offered? St. Pat’s serves students from PreK through 8th grade. Our PreK program begins at age 3½.
What is your approach to discipline? At St. Pat’s, our approach to discipline is rooted in our Catholic faith and the belief that every child is created in God’s image. We embrace the idea that “it takes a village to raise a child,” and see our partnership with families as essential to helping students grow into compassionate, responsible individuals. When children see their parents and teachers working together, they feel supported, confident, and ready to learn. That’s why we prioritize open, ongoing communication and intentionally build strong relationships with students and families throughout the year. We strive to create a learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. While we hold high expectations for behavior, we also recognize that children are still learning and developing. Most behaviors are addressed within the classroom using supportive redirection strategies such as gentle reminders, teacher proximity, brief reflection breaks, or tools like Fix-It tickets. We emphasize accountability, respect, and restorative practices—encouraging students to reflect on their actions, make things right, and grow in virtue. When additional support is needed, office referrals may be used to further guide students toward making positive, faith-centered choices.
