2023 Advent Program - Rejoice!

Join fellow parishioners as we prepare for Christmas by using the Rejoice! Advent Program from Fr. Mark Toups.  The program is designed to help us hear what God wishes to say to us during the Advent Season. It makes use of daily reflections/meditations/prayers centered on the Sunday readings as well as weekly videos.   So that we can experience the program as a community, we will meet on  Sunday evening, Dec. 3rd, at 6:15PM in church, where we will view the first two videos and spend some time in prayer together so that we might experience a deeper intimacy with God. As we learn how to quiet ourselves and hear God speak to us through the Sunday Mass readings, we will prepare for Christ to be born at a deeper level in our hearts this Christmas. 

The program will make use of the Ascension Press Rejoice! Advent Journal, authored by Fr. Mark Toups, with daily reflections/meditations/prayers centered on the Sunday Mass readings, as well as weekly videos featuring Fr. Toups, Sr. Josephine Garrett, and Fr. Josh Johnson.

Journals will be available for sale after the weekend Masses of Nov. 18/19 and Nov. 25/26, as well as on Sunday evening, Dec. 3rd. Cost for the journal is $8. Reserve your copy of the Rejoice! You can pay for your reserved copy of the journal when you pick it up.

There will be several optional events designed to enhance your experience of the program:

• Sunday Dec. 3rd: Meet in Church at 6:15PM to start our Advent Journey together by viewing the first videos and taking time to pray together.
• Sunday Dec. 10th and 17th:  Take part in Zoom meetings from 7PM to 8PM, where we will have the opportunity to discuss our experiences during the previous week and watch the weekly video together.
