INTRODUCTION TO OUR SCHOOL
Our Mission Statement
St. Patrick of Heatherdowns is a Catholic school committed to assisting parents in educating their children. Students are encouraged to grow and develop spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and socially in a Christ-centered environment. As educators, we strive to develop life-long learners who are faith-filled, self-disciplined, and responsible citizens.
St. Patrick of Heatherdowns School (St. Pat's) has been educating children for over 50 years. Our teaching staff has an average of over 15 years of teaching experience. Our focus is on the whole child, enriching their religious beliefs, advancing their education and preparing them socially.
Students attend Mass weekly and have religious instruction daily.
We include in our curriculum Renaissance Math for grades 5 - 8, and Accelerated Reader for students in grades K - 5.
Services are available to students who need tutoring during school. We also service students on an Individualized Education Plan and offer two Learning Disability Specialists to meet their needs. We have a speech therapist and a full-time registered nurse.
A typical week at St. Pat's includes instruction in art, computer, library, music or band, and physical education .

PARENT INVOLVEMENT
All families are required to donate 15 hours of service to the school. There are many opportunities for parental involvement including Boy or Girl Scout leader, coach, room mom responsible for coordinating holiday parties, teacher helper responsible for assisting the teacher in the classroom, driver for a field trip, volunteering at the Parish festival, volunteering at the Annual Golf Outing, supervising students during recess and many more options.
The service hours are accumulated from June 1 - May 31 for each school year. Parents are also given the option of paying $150 to cover the mandatory service hours.
PARENT NEWSLETTER
We are using a new program called constant contact for parent newsletters. Once the letter is composed it is sent out electronically to everyone who gave us a valid e-mail address.
If you did not receive the newsletter electronically via e-mail and you do have an e-mail address, e-mail debora.oshea@toledostpats.org to get on the list to receive the parent newsletters.
