Our Children's Collection

In November, we began the "Joyful Noise" collection. Since the collection began, the children of the parish have raised $1,787! Monies collected are divided evenly between the parish and four charitable organizations selected by the children in a voting process. Charities selected this school year include:

  • December -- HeartBeat of Toledo received $164.58!
  • March -- Ryan's Well Foundation to build safe drinking water wells in Africa received $260! Read the Ryan's Well thank you note HERE!
  • June -- Kaylee's Course for Progeria Research received $469!
  • October -- St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

In November 2009, the children will select recipients for their 2009-10 tithe!

Remember, when you hear those coins clanging in the glass jar at Mass we have cheerful givers making joyful noise!

Can you give an hour a week?

The parish is looking for people to participate in the "Helping Hands: Hour-A-Week" program, a new volunteer initiative within our community.  Coordinated by Tim DeFrain , the program will give potenial volunteers a chance to connect with opportunities in the parish. In addition to helping different departments and organizations within the parish and school, the program is designed to give volunteers experience that can be added to a resume and develop relationships and contacts within the community.

Are you recently retired or seasonally employed and now have extra time you can give? We'd love to have you participate as well! To learn about some of the volunteer oportunities in the parish, visit our Volunteer Resources page on this site!

For more information, contact Pam Mohler, 419-724-4770 or Tim at 419-893-4350

If you are hospitalized

Due to privacy laws, the parish office is not often notified by the hospital when one of our parishioners has been admitted. We would appreciate being advised by a family member when this has occurred. We do make the effort to visit our parishioners in hospitals when we are made aware of their admittance. To let us know if someone you love has been hospitalized, please cick HERE to email our parish secretary, Audrey Braham.

Our Mission

St. Patrick of Heatherdowns is a vital part of the Catholic Church, united in one faith, one baptism, committed to the proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ in word and sacrament. We worship together as the Body of Christ, we minister to one another in the spirit of the Gospel and we reach beyond ourselves to those in need of our time, talent and treasure. We become the living presence of God in love and service.
